Afghanistan’s mineral potential offers opportunities for investment, employment and economic development. Turning that potential into lasting value requires reliable evidence, sound engineering, environmental protection and meaningful community participation.
Daira Sabz’s participation in Afghanistan’s International Mining Exhibition, held in Kabul from 28–31 October 2026, brought these priorities into focus. We welcome continued dialogue with mining companies, investors, engineering firms and development partners seeking to advance commercially viable and responsible projects.
A shared vision for responsible mining
“Afghanistan’s mineral potential presents an opportunity to create lasting economic value through responsible investment, sound engineering and environmental and social accountability. These priorities must shape decisions from exploration through operation, rehabilitation and closure.”
— Mustafa Hasani, Group Managing Director, Daira Sabz
This perspective guides our work: technical decisions and environmental and social responsibilities belong together throughout the mine lifecycle.
Better evidence. More informed investment.
Geological investigations, environmental and social baseline studies, water-resource assessments and stakeholder consultation help project teams understand conditions, compare alternatives and identify risks early.
These findings should inform feasibility studies, design and operational planning. They can guide practical decisions on water use, pollution control, biodiversity, community livelihoods, cultural heritage and worker safety, with clear responsibilities for implementation and monitoring.
Planning beyond extraction
Exploration requires careful field practices and early community engagement. Construction and operations require effective safeguards, technical oversight and responsive monitoring. Rehabilitation and closure need attention from the outset, including plans for environmental stability, future land use and affected livelihoods.
Community trust develops through sustained engagement: listening to concerns, communicating realistic commitments and showing how feedback influences decisions.
International expertise. Local understanding.
Daira Sabz connects environmental science, engineering and social research. With offices in Germany and Afghanistan, we combine international technical oversight with local specialists, field experience and knowledge of the operating context.
Our experience includes environmental and social assessment for the Mes Aynak Copper Project, bringing together baseline investigations, stakeholder consultation and environmental management planning. We support clients with technical studies, risk assessment, monitoring and capacity development tailored to each assignment.
Let’s build the right partnership
We welcome collaboration with mining companies and investors developing projects; engineering firms seeking complementary environmental and social expertise; and research institutions and development partners working towards responsible resource development.
Share your project location, development stage and principal challenge. Together, we can identify a practical next step: an initial technical discussion, a focused assessment, a joint proposal or a longer-term partnership.
